A young Birmingham City reserves side beat West Bromwich Albion 2-0 in the Pontins Holiday League Central at Damson Parkway last night.

Albion who included John Hartson, Nathan Ellington and Steve Watson in their ranks were no match in the early stages against an eager Blues side.

Oliver Allen put Blues in front on eight minutes, turning in Nick Wright's cross. Allen's follow through saw him collide with Albion Keeper Russell Hoult, who was left in much discomfort. He was taken off and replaced by John Bateman a few minutes later.

Asa Hall grabbed Blues' second on 23 minutes when Albion failed to clear a corner properly, the ball fell to Hall who rifled an unstoppable shot into the net from 18 yards. ..SUPL:
