A Birmingham museum is to become the latest venue for marriages after gaining a licence to hold civil ceremonies.

Soho House in Handsworth will charge £700 to hire the Georgian building which was once home to the 18th century industrialist Matthew Boulton.

Couples will be able to tie the knot in the famous Lunar Room which, as a venue for meetings of the Lunar Society, saw gatherings of some of the greatest minds of their age. ..TEXT: The room contains fine furniture, historic paintings, silver and a wealth of antique items. Soon-to-be weds will sign the register on the original table used by Matthew Boulton when entertaining guests.
