A Birmingham man will go on trial accused of murdering his model and actress girlfriend at her home in Bolton.
Ricardo Morrison, 21, is accused of stabbing to death part-time lads-mag model and Hollyoaks actress Amy Leigh Barnes, 19, at her home in Farnworth on November 8 last year.
He will stand in the dock alongside his mother, Melda Wilks, 49, of Hollyhill Road, Rubery, who is a policewoman in the West Midlands force.
She is accused of assisting an offender, her son, by allowing evidence to be destroyed following the killing.
Both have pleaded not guilty.
Morrison, an amateur footballer, with aspirations to play professionally, had been the boyfriend of Miss Barnes who was found with stab wounds after police were called to her home.
The teenager had modelled for Cosmopolitan and Nuts Magazine and had appeared in Channel 4 teen soap, Hollyoaks.
The trial, expected to last two weeks, will take place at Manchester Crown Court.
