Victims of last week's tornado enjoyed a free performance by Zippo's Circus yesterday in a bid to help lift their spirits.
The circus is currently in the city performing at Oaklands Recreation Ground in Hay Mills and contacted the city council after seeing the devastation caused across the city last week.
A spokesman said: "Zippo's spends time each year in Birmingham. Many of those affected by the disaster will be familiar faces to Zippo's performers and staff on our visits here, and we wanted to do something to cheer them up if we could."
After contacting the council the circus was told 170 people were living in temporary accommodation at the Birmingham University halls of residence in Edgbaston.
They were all invited along to yesterday's 5pm performance, where they met clowns Charlie Cairoli and Bippo as well as ringmaster Norman Barrett and other performers.
