It's already acknowledged as one of Birmingham's finest art galleries.

Now the award-winning Barber Institute of Fine Arts has received another accolade - in a BBC soap.

Tomorrow's episode of Doctors features one of its regulars Dr Joe Fenton, and his daughter, Emily, an art student, visiting the Barber on a weekend trip. The scene features Emily saying they could spend a lifetime looking round the gallery and asking if they can come back again next week.

The scene was filmed in the Red Gallery on a May morning before the complex, at Birmingham University, was opened to the public.

"We have also had a whole episode of Midland-based crime thriller Dalziel and Pascoe shot here two years ago, and the Doctors unit has called on us as a location several times in the past," said a Barber spokesman.
