An enduring charity effort
Banker Graham Nicoll, one of the driving forces behind Thrive’s Birmingham Suit Amnesty, has taken part in the New York Marathon.
Graham, Regional Centre Head of Barclays Wealth in Birmingham, in his first marathon, was aiming to raise £3,000 for St Basils, the charity that helps prevent youth homelessness.
A delighted Graham, who finished in 4 hours and 10 minutes, said: “It was a great experience. The route was lined with fans, bands, people hanging out fruit from their houses, and preachers.”
Graham and other volunteers co-ordinate the donation of unwanted suits to charities including St Basils.
