A four-strong gang escaped with #95,500 after clambering into a Kenilworth bank through a first floor window, police disclosed yesterday.
The robbers, who had forced open a gate at the rear of Barclays Bank in High Street, are thought to have used wooden pallets to gain access to the window.
Warwickshire Police said the men then went downstairs and forced staff to lie down before taking cash from the safe.
They escaped through the rear window and sped off on two motorcycles down an alleyway and then out of Kenilworth in an unknown direction.
Detective Inspector Bob Bradbury, from Warwick District CID, appealed for witnesses who may have seen the men at the rear of the building or taking a pallet from behind the Iceland store nearby between 4.45pm and 5pm on Tuesday.
