A bakery staffed by Birmingham's homeless has launched online.

The not-for-profit Frost and Snow Cupcake Bakery, which is the brainchild of baker Sarah Frost and Midland Heart, will be run by trainees who are either homeless or have experienced homelessness during their life.

Chris Munday, managing director of care and support at Midland Heart, said: “The initial reaction to Frost and Snow Cupcake Bakery has been incredible, but until now we have mainly been working with businesses.

"Members of the public who have bought from us have been really encouraging, so we are excited to launch online and make it easier for people to support the work and check out our cupcakes.

“Whilst grants are assisting it financially at the start, the business will eventually become self-sufficient and all profits will go back into supporting people out of homelessness.”
