A Birmingham choir which has been working with its own dawn chorus is preparing to celebrate with a string of Christmas concerts later this month.

During the past year members of Ex Cathedra have given birth to ten babies, with other singers also expecting, so Away In A Manger will be a fitting song for the new mothers to perform at St Paul's Church, in Hockley.

The choral group has also seen its album of Latin American Baroque songs storm up the classical charts, so with six boys and four girls, it could set up its own junior choir to accompany the adults.

The new mothers above are (from left): Natalie Clifton with Holly, Clare Edwards with Mia, Amy Maclean with Jeremy, Manjula Dean with Christopher, Sally Spencer with Samuel and Rachel Snape with Helena.
