Aston Villa's first match of the Premiership season has been put back 24 hours.

Martin O'Neill's men were due to kick-off the new season at home to Manchester City on August 16 but, due to their progress in Europe, the match will now start at 3pm on Sunday, August 17.

Villa play the second and final qualifying round UEFA Cup match over two legs on Thursday, August 14, and Thursday, August 28 - three days before Liverpool arrive at Villa Park in the Premier League.

Their opponents in the UEFA Cup will be announced this Friday.
