Aston Villa have completed the signing of England Under 21 winger James Milner from Premier League rivals Newcastle United.
The 22-year-old has signed a four year contract with Martin O’Neill’s men and returns to the club he left in 2006 after a season-long loan.
He passed a medical at Bodymoor Heath this morning and joins for a fee of around £9 million taking O’Neill’s summer spending to more than £37m.
The former Leeds United midfielder could make his debut against Liverpool on Sunday and will hope to add to the three goals and 33 appearances he made in his last stint at Villa Park.
