Aston Villa have expressed an interest in South Korea international Cho Yong-hyung, according to the player's agent.

The central defender played in all four games at the World Cup as the Taeguk Warriors reached the last 16 for the first time on foreign soil.

Cho, 26, currently plays for Korean side Jeju United but his performances for his country have attracted interest from a host of clubs across Europe according to Yoon Ki-yeon of the player's agency Inspokorea.

"Aston Villa and a few other European clubs have shown interest in Cho," he said in The Korea Herald.

"I can confirm that he is on their transfer list and I expect the official deal will be made after the World Cup."
