Birmingham's veteran jazz saxophonist Andy Hamilton has been at Buckingham Palace to collect his MBE for services to music.
The 90-year-old musician from Ladywood was recently awarded the ‘Fellowship of Birmingham Conservetoire’ in recognition of his tireless work to promote music in the city.
Hamilton, who is still playing the saxophone and teaching youngsters about jazz. was at the Palace with Jazzie B, front man of Soul 2 Soul, who received an OBE.
Mr Hamilton, whose son Graham who used to play with the band the Fine Young Cannibals, said: "I'm very proud and I'm going to have a big party when I get back."
