Grammy-award winner Amy Winehouse last night emerged as the latest big-name celebrity to reveal a liking for Aston Villa after she was photographed leaving a London eaterie wearing a Villa pendant around her neck.
The British singer was snapped by paparazzi in London yesterday outside a fast-food restaurant in Camden Town clearly sporting the Villa pendant on a silver chain.
The singer, who won five Grammies just last week including gongs for being the best singer-songwriter and for the best album, is understood to have worn the claret and blue pendant complete with club motto Prepared as a sign of her love for her husband Blake Fielder-Civil who is on remand at Pentonville Prison in London on a host of charges and is said to be a Villa fanatic.
Winehouse is the latest celebrity to reveal a soft side for the Midlands's club following Hollywood actor Tom Hanks' public declaration for all things claret and blue earlier this year.
Villa's long line of celebrity fans also includes Prince William who just last month snubbed a top brass army dinner so that he could join the troops in watching Villa's 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Anfield on a pub television.
Conservative leader David Cameron and Governor of the Bank of England Mervyn King are also self-confessed Villa supporters while Winehouse joins a long list of musicians who love the club including Ozzy Osbourne and violinist Nigel Kennedy.
