The world's largest posters and prints store has opened its first European base in Birmingham, creating 30 new jobs over the next year and marking the region's 1,000th overseas investment since records began.
Allposters.com, based in California, sells posters and prints, both framed and unframed, ranging from pop stars to fine art, selling on-line to markets around the world.
The company was looking to set up a manufacturing base and distribution centre for frames to European markets.
After contacting UK Trade and Investment, Advantage West Midlands' inward investment team under the British Midlands banner, helped to convince the company the region was the ideal destination.
After receiving help with premises and introduced to agents to assist with leases and recruitment, Allposters.com is now in the process of setting up its manufacturing centre at Gravelly Industrial Park and is looking to recruit up to 30 staff over the next year.
Since 1991, Allposters.com is the 1,000th foreign investment in the region which has led to 55,906 new jobs and 119,574 safeguarded.
Allposters.com vice-president of operations, Geoffroy Martin, said: "The British Midlands team provided invaluable support in helping us to carry out our move and it was clear that the West Midlands was the ideal place for us to base our European operation.
"We are very grateful for everybody involved in the project for helping us start what will be a successful new chapter in the Allposters.com story."
