West Bromwich Albion have signed David Worrall from Bury for an initial #50,000 fee.
The 16-year-old winger has moved to The Hawthorns on scholarship forms until the end of season.
The Manchester-born player has also signed a pre-contract agreement that has committed him to a three-year professional deal when he reaches his 17th birthday in June.
Tony Mowbray, the Albion manager, said: "David is a young boy who came to our attention. We invited him down for a week’s training and he showed his potential.
"We’ve reached a financial agreement with Bury and we’re delighted he’s coming on board. David had considerable interest from top Premiership clubs but he enjoyed his week with us and decided we were the club he wanted to join.
"He’ll hopefully be one for the future who will flourish in the environment at the football club."
