Birmingham City have confirmed the signing of midfielder Kemy Agustien on a season-long loan from AZ Alkmaar, though the transfer of former Arsenal starlet Quincy Owusu-Abeyie remains in the balance.
Blues have paid a loan fee of around £590,000 for the 21-year-old and have the option of making the deal permanent next summer for £1.575m if the Dutchman impresses.
The Holland Under-21 man recently had a hernia operation but is back in training and will be fit for the start of Blues' Championship campaign which begins at home to Sheffield United on August 9.
Agustien becomes the third player to arrive at St Andrew's this summer and joins Lee Carsley and Marcus Bent as new recruits.
Manager Alex McLeish was, however, non-commital about the chances of Owusu-Abeyie moving from Spartak Moscow.
