Around 30,000 auto professionals from around the world are revving up for Europe’s largest dedicated motorsport trade show – in the heart of the Midlands.
Thousands of motorsport specialists and 600 performance engineering companies from over 20 different countries will gather to kick-start the motorsport season at Autosport International.
From tomorrow until January 12, the NEC will host the extravaganza, where an event record £1.07 billion worth of new business was generated in 2013.
At Autosport International 2013, over 60 nations were represented in the trade audience of 28,000 motorsport professionals, and more than 100 international exhibitors are heading to this week’s show from 22 different countries, spanning Europe, North America and Australasia.
The UK motorsport sector creates £6 billion in global sales annually, while the centrally located Motorsport Valley alone is home to over 3,500 companies and 40,000 jobs, including eight of the 11 teams in Formula One.
The 2014 show will feature the launch of several major projects, including the all-new E10 sports car from new manufacturer Zenos, the Anglo-German Sin R1 supercar and the carbon neutral Trident Iceni race car.
Local companies Delcam, Metalweb and Titanium Engineers are among the Birmingham businesses exhibiting at the show, while Birmingham City University and City College Birmingham will feature in Autosport International’s dedicated Careers in Motorsport area.
