Aston Martin marketing director Markus Kramer has left the Gaydon-based luxury sports car manufacturer to take up a post with an international brands management specialist.

Mr Kramer, who also worked previously for legendary motorcycle manufacturer Harley Davidson, is joining Brand Affairs, the London and Zurich-based consultancy as a partner.

Mr Kramer has spent four years as global marketing director of Aston Martin, Mr Kramer will specialise in international client relations in his Brand Affairs role.

He said: “I am very excited about joining the Brand Affairs team. At Harley Davidson and, latterly, Aston Martin, I gathered valuable experience not only in luxury goods marketing, but also in the field of international distribution and sales optimisation, which I believe will make a powerful contribution to clients worldwide.”

He added: “The development and expansion of businesses, brands, and their underlying structures is my passion. I look forward to sharing my know-how and experience in practical ways, helping companies strengthen their brands, and making their marketing and distribution operations more efficient and effective.

“I have noted a strong demand in these areas, particularly for companies with growth ambitions at home and abroad.”

Swiss-born Mr Kramer started his career in architecture. But rather than designing buildings, he put his planning skills to work in marketing.

He lives in Oxford with his wife and three children. An internationally-renowned marketing expert, he will also continue to give lectures on the subject to leading business schools and blue-chip conferences around the world.
