Birmingham's two newest city parks are springing into life as winter finally ends, and there's a new spring collection to tempt home-buyers out of hibernation.
Housebuilder Crest Nicholson has been keeping its newest phase of Park Central apartments under wraps while planning this month's launch of its latest showpiece schemes.
Three brand new show apartments are being unveiled along with a new marketing suite, all overlooking the eight acres of public parkland at the heart of the award-winning development.
On show are a one-bedroom apartment, another with two bedrooms and a twobedroom split-level penthouse.
All have been fully planned and finished by the well-known Warwickshirebased Vogue Interiors, and they did not have to look far for inspiration, says Vogue designer, Vanessa Unger.
"The onset of spring has brought renewed life to Sunset and Moonlit parks, so the design theme for the new show apartments has naturally fallen around breathing new life into the blank canvas of a property."
A fresh turquoise was chosen for the smallest of the show homes and a burnt orange for the larger two-bed design.
A vibrant red was picked for the pent-house and the interior experts have had some fun with the styling of the various rooms, from bold artwork and clever lighting to sumptuous bedroom sets, but the designers knew full well that in this part of Park Central, the open green views dominate. "This presents a very specific type of challenge. In rooms where the view is a focal point, the interiors must frame these views, integrating the living space with its surroundings," says Vanessa.
In the penthouse, an entire mirrored wall makes the point, reflecting the natural daylight and bouncing it back across the living area.
The kitchen is finished in a timber effect to echo the theme of natural materials.
The idea of new show homes, of course, is to capture the imagination of intending buyers, proving just what they can do with their own purchases, and in the new marketing suite, the sales experts are now on hand to explain the latest long list of property choices and finance schemes on offer.
They are also able to outline the future plans for the wider, 61 acre development, now well into its 10-year build programme.
There is a scale model on show of the whole site and aerial photography shows the extent of the scheme.
The marketing suite is now on Mason's Way, and signposted from the previous location on Bath Row.
Jo Parker, sales manager at Park Central, says: "Spring is a popular season for homebuyers. As the sun comes out, people are encouraged to visit the developments that they have heard about.
"At Park Central, a development which consistently has the highest visitor levels in the city centre, we wanted to give our prospective purchasers something new to see, something that encapsulates how far the scheme has moved on in recent months."
Prices start from £125,000 for a one-bedroom layout and from £170,000 for a two-bedroom design.
There are split-level penthouses with two bedrooms available from £265,000, and an interesting collection of one to four-bedroom townhouses are also currently available from £185,000 to £262,000.
