It is awards season for the film industry, and for the property business too, with CPBigwood winning two accolades.

The agency, which has branches in Birmingham and Stratford-upon-Avon, picked up a silver medal at the Estate Agency Of The Year Awards and bronze in the Negotiator Awards 2015, both for the performance of its auction division.

More than 650 leading property professionals from throughout the UK attended the ceremony at the Lancaster London Hotel, with the winners presented with their awards by former international rugby star Matt Dawson.

CPBigwood was praised for its skills, knowledge, local presence and experience.

The citation read: “Despite its heritage as a long-standing business, there is a culture of innovation.

“It has undergone a year of reviewing its technology systems and usage, which has led to the team designing and developing their own auction-specific software programme. The web presence has been enhanced, so the website is fully responsive and they have embraced social media and online tools.

“The rate of lots sold is impressive and they are increasing the number of auctions.”

The award was accepted by chief executive and auctioneer Rory Daly and head of auctions Jonathan Hackett.

The Negotiator Awards were given out by impressionist and comedian Alistair McGowan at a gala dinner at the London Hilton, attended by 730 top professionals.

Gurpreet Bassi, CPBigwood associate partner auctions, was shortlisted for individual categories in both awards.

Mr Daly said: “It is always brilliant to gain recognition and it is all down to the hard work of our staff.

“We sold £77 million worth of property at our six auctions in 2015, £15 million up on 2014 – a 24 per cent increase which is fantastic growth.

“And it is particularly pleasing to be acknowledged for the effort we have put in to make our web presence the best it can be for clients.”
