Birmingham-based corporate finance adviser Catalyst has worked on an international deal to acquire a well known cake brand.
Mark Wilson, partner in its city office, led the deal to advise Dutch outfit Daelmans on the buyout of Fabulous Bakin' Bros.
Daelmans, which was established in 1909 and also has operations in the UK and USA, manufactures a range of cakes and pastries for national and international private own labels.
The business exports its products to more than 30 countries and is known for its caramel waffles.
Fabulous Bakin' Boys set up its manufacturing facility in Oxfordshire in 1988, originally under the brand name Delicious Donut Co.
It rebranded in 1997 as Fabulous Bakin' Boys as they expanded the range to include muffins, cakes, flapjacks and cupcakes.
Mr Wilson, who was helped by Catalyst's Nottingham-based director Simon Peacock, said: "This is yet another example of an overseas buyer acquiring a UK company.
"The two businesses are an excellent fit and the experience of Daelmans in working with customers on a global basis will help grow the Fabulous Bakin' Boys brand."
Rik Daelman added: "I am delighted to announce this acquisition which will make an excellent addition to our product range. This is an exciting time for our company as we continue to expand into new markets and territories and the Fabulous Bakin' Boys brand will very much be part of that expansion.
"I am very happy with the team at Catalyst who guided us through our first major overseas acquisition."
Law firm Freeth Cartwright advised Daelmans.
