A survey is being carried out by West Midlands Business Council and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales www.icaew.co.uk/research/wmt/wmt_survey_06.htm.

WMBC executive director, James Watkins, said: "This online survey is an opportunity for all firms to have their say to enable a constructive and positive contribution to be made to this debate."

Nigel Hastilow, of the ICAEW West Midlands region, said: "Our members are at the heart of business and they tell us transport is a vital issue for the region.

"But we need to know in much more detail what their views are on the road ahead for the West Midlands.

"Some business organisations think new taxes could be a fair price to pay for less congestion. But what do businessmen and women themselves think? Our survey will give everyone a much clearer view." ..SUPL:
