Building, heating and plumbing products supplier Wolseley announced it had bought a further four companies for £42 million, bringing its yearly acquisition total to £665 million.

Wolseley, whose UK headquarters is at Leamington Spa, and which supplies plumbing, heating and building materials products to contractors, has bought a pipe distributor and a wholesale building materials business in the US and a building supplies business and an electrical wholesaler in the UK.

The group expects the purchases to add about £93 million in additional revenue in a full year.

Wolseley acquired US firm Pipe Products, a pipe distributor in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana with revenues in the year to April 30 of $60.5 million. The second US acquisition is the fixed assets and inventory of the wholesale division of Indianapolis-based Davis Homes.
