Guests at the 39-storey Radisson SAS hotel currently taking shape in Birmingham will be able to enjoy the height of technology when it opens this winter.

The city centre hotel is the first international hotel chain to offer guests a free wireless broadband service which will be available in all bedrooms, public areas and selected meeting rooms.

Visitors to the city for business or leisure who stay in any of the contemporary designed rooms can make use of unlimited high-speed internet access while also benefiting from the hotel's proximity to all the key business, leisure and cultural amenities.

The new Birmingham property will comprise a first class, full service hotel offering 211 rooms in three styles - Chic, Fresh and Fashion - including seven suites and a presidential suite.

The second and third floors will be dedicated to meetings and events, with five high-tech meeting rooms and a pre-function area on each floor. The main event room can accommodate up to 120 delegates in theatre style and 60 for a dinner.

Kathrine Ohm Thomas, general manager, Radisson SAS Hotel Birmingham, said: "Free Broadband is a service that is in demand from today's hotel guests and we are committed to meeting the needs of contemporary business and leisure travellers.

"We like to think of ourselves as a step ahead of the competition."
