A financial services company aims to raise more than £120,000 over the next two years for its neighbour Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Wesleyan Assurance Society on Colmore Circus will contribute towards the hospitals’ £4 million campaign to redevelop its cancer unit.

The society’s fundraising activities will be used to renovate play rooms for the children and areas for visiting parents.

Craig Errington, Wesleyan’s chief executive, added: “Wesleyan and Birmingham Children’s Hospital have both been part of the fabric of the city for more than 150 years and it makes perfect sense that we support them in this fantastic cause.

“Our staff have proven how generous they are by raising more than £100,000 for CLIC Sargent over the past two years and we are confident we can exceed that target for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.”
