A property developer has sponsored a wall of colour designed by the community in the new Shard End Library.

Stoford Retail has completed a regeneration programme for Shard End with Barratt Homes, which saw 190 homes and 12 shops built, including a Co-operative food store, Greggs, Ladbrokes and Post Office.

More than 100 ceramic tiles, designed and painted by residents of all ages around the theme of the Diamond Jubilee, now feature in the library entrance lounge.

Andy Browne, director of Stoford Retail, said: “We are delighted to have made a contribution to this novel community project. It will be a lasting reminder of the Diamond Jubilee and its place in the community of Shard End.”
