The newest development at Coventry University's Technology Park officially opens tomorrow.

The city's Lord Mayor Councillor Ram Lakha and delegates from regional development agency Advantage West Midlands will tour the second and third phases of the Innovation Village before cutting the ribbon.

The £8 million Village, for young and mid-growth technology companies, is being developed by the Real Land group in partnership with Coventry University Enterprises.

Phase one opened two years ago. CUE assistant director Julian Ingleby said phases two and three offered additional space for expanding technology firms.

"The Innovation Village is designed for businesses we have helped to nurture elsewhere in the Technology Park who are ready to take control of their own destiny," he said.

"These companies can own their front door but still remain part of the Park's business community. We also hope to welcome technology and researchrelated businesses looking to relocate."

Real Land director Nick Hill said Innovation Village presented a rare opportunity for technology firms in the West Midlands.

"The units offer high quality open planned space, of which there is a shortage in Coventry, and room to expand on site," he said. "This region has a strong tradition for innovation, particularly in technology-led industries."

Tenants can take advantage of CUE services including business advice, cleaning, catering, security, use of the on-site Conference Centre and Creativity Lab and University expertise.
