Birmingham coffee retailer Urban Coffee Company has unveiled a brand new location in the city’s Mailbox.

The growing firm has created a coffee ‘pod’ in the complex, which is its third outlet in the city.

Hannah Wolsey, managing director of Urban Coffee Company, said: “Our vision is for further expansion in Birmingham, as our coffee has been so well received in the city. When the concept of an Urban Coffee pod came up we all got very excited as it is something entirely new for us.

“We have launched Urban Coffee at the Mailbox today and to celebrate have been giving away free coffee and cupcakes to lucky visitors and passers-by.

“Visually it is definitely something different and we hope that the workers, shoppers and diners will welcome our brand to their doorstep like they have with our other emporiums in town. We are dubbing it a ‘pod’ at the moment, but any more fitting suggestions are welcome, as it doesn’t quite fit the ‘emporium’ mould.

“The Mailbox has already proved a welcoming and helpful location and we are incredibly grateful for the support we have received in starting up the pod.”

Urban Coffee Company launched on Church Street in 2009 and opened a second emporium in the Jewellery Quarter last year. This latest venture marks a successful third year in Birmingham and there has been much speculation among Urban regulars as to where exactly it will be.
