A female entrepreneur from Coventry has made a flying start after launching a jewellery business with a twist.
Elizabeth Kay, who worked as British Airways and Virgin Atlantic cabin crew for five years, has launched Truly Julry which offers an at-home service.
She started the business after working in field sales for a jewellery wholesaler. Rather than setting up a traditional shop, Elizabeth visits customers at their homes or work, where she shows them her range of costume, silver and gold items.
Ms Kay said: “Lots of my customers are men who want to buy something nice for the other half and they really appreciate the convenience. My attitude changed dramatically and success breeds success. I now have a regular monthly slot to go into Jaguar’s work places and sell directly to staff which makes me feel wonderful.”
Joy Hunter, from the Women's Business Development Agency, said she was delighted to be able to give Elizabeth the confidence to get the business off the ground.
“Lots of women have fantastic ideas but just need some practical support to turn them into successful businesses,” she said. “Elizabeth has already established herself as a trusted supplier of quality jewellery.”
