A Black Country business is to triple its turnover after winning a £12 million contract for the new Derby City General Hospital.

Partitions & Ceilings ( Europe), based in West Bromwich, beat off competition from European rivals to win the three year deal.

Backed by advice from experts at business support organisation Mustard.uk.com, the firm has already started work on the contract, which involves the completion of drywalling in the state-oftheart building.

Managing director Steven Worrallo said: "The powers that be at the hospital were extremely impressed at our track-record on other contracts and our innovative purchasing and project management approach detailed in the tender.

"However, even though we had a really strong business case, we never thought we would be able to outmuscle the big multi-nationals, with their hundreds of employees."

The firm hopes that its success will help it win other new work, including the possibility of a landmark project with Mansfield Royal Infirmary.
