IT service and support specialist Technology Services Group (TSG) has produced a jargon busting guide to banish the bafflement of talking to IT techies the world over.

The light-hearted guide has been put together to explain the jargon that's used in the world of computers, so that anyone can understand their IT hardware and software and make the most of technology.

TSG's head of marketing, Tony Hitchens, said: "We talk to a huge range of customers every day in the course of service and support calls, and it soon became clear that there's a lot of confusion about IT stuff and what many buzz words actually mean.

"People feel bamboozled by the sheer volume of technical terms many IT specialists use so we decided to stamp out geekspeak once and for all by producing a jargon buster that's available free to anyone who'd like a copy."

He added: "We make it a point of principle that all our technical and support staff explain IT in plain English, and everyone at TSG has a copy of the guide. It's a good reminder that IT information doesn't have to be impossible to decipher."

TSG employs more than 400 staff across the UK, with turnover of £37 million, and provides IT services to over 9,000 small and medium sized business and education organisations across the UK out of 12 regional offices, from Basingstoke in the south, to Aberdeen in the north.

TSG Midlands operates from regional offices in Broom, Alcester.

* Free copies of the guide are available from all TSG regional offices and can be ordered at TSG ' s website,www.tsg.com, or by calling 0845 11 11 66.
