Business leaders will today present Birmingham City Council's Congestion Taskforce with 34 examples of how the traffic gridlock can be eased quickly.
The meeting, under the chairmanship of Coun Len Gregory, Cabinet Member for Transport, will hear from invited members of business interests on their ideas for "quick win" opportunities to improve local roads.
The general public, pedestrians groups and the police will also be among those represented.
Jerry Blackett, chairman of the West Midlands Business Transport Group and policy director at Birmingham Chamber of commerce and Industry, welcomed the move.
He said: "This latest trawl just shows how many other opportunities there appear to be to make simple little tweaks to our roads to make best use of the available tarmac. The examples sent in could help traffic move more freely on key arterial roads such as the Bristol Road, the A45, the Hagley Road and the Five Ways junction."
