Drinks delivery firm Tradeteam has signed a five-year deal with Birmingham pub group Mitchells & Butlers.

Tradeteam, which has its headquarters at Hams Hall, will take on forecasting, stock replenishment, overseas inbound freight, order capture and customer service, as well as delivery of eight million units of beers, wines, spirits, ciders, and minerals a year.

It is extension of an existing four-year contract with M&B.

The deal will also see Tradeteam provide new services to Mitchells & Butlers including the distribution of snacks alongside drinks.

Gavin Murdoch, the managing director of Tradeteam, said: “We are delighted that Mitchells and Butlers has once again recognised Tradeteam as its trusted service partner.

“In the last 18-months we have made significant investments in people and systems to ensure that we continue to add value to Mitchells & Butlers’ operations. We have jointly initiated a supply chain development programme and this contract extension will allow both parties to fully realise the expected benefits.

“We are looking forward to helping Mitchells & Butlers achieve its long-term growth plans.”

Susan Martindale, the purchasing director for M&B, added: “Mitchells & Butlers recognises the significant progress made in our drinks logistics operation over the past four years and we are delighted to take this opportunity to extend our relationship with Tradeteam.

“Tradeteam’s approach to operational and process innovation, together with their excellent service record, makes them our preferred logistics partner in this sector.”

The M&B estate covers about 2,000 pubs, restaurants and bars around the UK.
