A patron scheme bringing together some of the most influential businesses across Coventry and Warwickshire has been launched.

Coventry University Enterprises and Marconi have signed up as the first members of the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber scheme.

Annette Fitzgerald, head of policy at the Chamber, said: "The patronage scheme is a special category of membership.

"It is anticipated that patrons, as a group, will become key ambassadors within Coventry and Warwickshire, on behalf of the wider chamber membership."

Larry Coltman, president of the chamber, added: "This scheme is an excellent chance to forge a closer partnership between businesses and develop what will hopefully be a productive relationship."

John Latham, Pro-Vice Chancellor at Coventry University and managing director of Coventry University Enterprises, said he was delighted to have signed up to the scheme.

He was supported by Paul Harris, executive vice president of Marconi, who said: "Marconi is committed to building on the already strong links we have with the chamber and the value it adds to our business."
