A 70-strong troupe of keep-fit veterans and aerobic amateurs from TNT's head office in Atherstone donned their tracksuits and trainers to take part in an hour-long leg and arm pumping session for The Wooden Spoon.

The intrepid group at the express delivery giant braved the wind and the rain to take part in the early morning fund-raising event which raised more than £450 for the children's charity.

Star of the Express House car park work-out was Stephen Fletcher, Director of Business Finance Strategy & Planning, who led the group consisting of novices and regular keep-fitters.

Stephen said: "I've worked at TNT for 26 years now and decided that it was about time that I did my bit for this fantastic charity. There's no way I could be described as a fitness fanatic, and I'm certainly not a member of a gym, but I really wanted to take the plunge on behalf of the team and set an example?"

"Stephen certainly worked up a sweat as local aerobic instructor Laura Deeley put the group through its paces, with a heart-pounding sequence of squats, jumps and box steps."

Wooden Spoon Chairman Roger Davies, said: "The people at TNT continue to give us magnificent backing and the aerobic session is yet another example of their ingenuity and dedication.

"On behalf of the tens of the thousands of youngsters who benefit from TNT's donations I'd like to thank Stephen and all the employees at Atherstone for their kindness and sustained support."
