More than 4,000 business people signed up to an innovative Midlands-based networking website ahead of its official launch yesterday.

Business over Breakfast (BoB), a fast- growing business-to-business networking organisation with clubs throughout the Midlands and beyond, was swamped with inquiries since it revealed its plan to set up

The new website provides online networking opportunities for all types of businesses from sole traders to large corporations at local, regional, national and international level, as well as offering a range of other services and benefits.

Geoff Cox, BoB founder and managing director, said he was stunned by the number of people who pre-registered prior to the launch.

"There are two or three online networking websites out there already - though none that offers the comprehensive service we do - and it's through these that we recruited many of the people who pre-registered," he added.

Mr Cox, who is from Birmingham, came up with the idea when the rapid expansion of BoB - which he launched 18 months ago and now has ten clubs, with 30 more in the pipeline - showed there was a growing demand for sharing of information within larger companies.

The new website, which offers free full membership for the first three months and £5 per month thereafter, is more business-orientated than its rivals, said Mr Cox.

"The others I've looked at seem to be a bit like a social chat room, whereas ours is purely business."
