Last month the European Commission announced an investigation into plans for Investbx - a stock exchange for the West Midland's small businesses.
The #3.8 million project by regional development agency Advantage West Midlands was designed to bridge the equity gap for smaller firms.
However, the scheme blasted by small business stock exchange Ofex, which branded it as ineffective and a 'deplorable waste of public funds'.
