Insurance chain Swinton has snapped up the Budget Retail branch in Birmingham as part of a plan to increase its presence in the region.
The deal follows a concerted acquisition campaign in the Birmingham area, and is part of a national acquisition of the Budget Group's high street insurance intermediary business.
Hazel Walker, head of acquisition for Swinton, said: "It is great to be bringing two of the best known high street insurance retailers together, and the acquisition of the Birmingham Budget branch significantly increases our local presence in the city. We look forward to giving customers in Birmingham the same high standard of service and we warmly welcome the new Budget staff into the Swinton fold."
Swinton added that the Birmingham branch of Budget Retail will continue to operate as normal, with all staff retained.
