A Black Country printing firm has crashed and gone into administration after suffering poor debts, bad trading and increased overseas competition. West Bromwich-based Swan Fields employs 65 people and manufactures printed folding cartons and litho laminated packaging.

Andy McGill, joint administrative receiver from KPMG Corporate Recovery, said the aim was to continue to trade with a view to achieving a going concern sale. He said: "Swan Fields has been suffering from poor trading due to increased overseas competition and consequential reduced order intake, and downward pressure on profit margins." The company had also suffered "bad debts."
