An award-winning student turned art broker from Birmingham has launched a new online arts agency, Graduart.
It is designed to nurture, develop and provide exposure to the most talented graduate artists in the Midlands.
Daniel Gibbons, aged 24, has set up www.graduart.co.uk to provide the corporate, commercial and public sectors with original, innovative and affordable contemporary art from emerging artists.
Already a graduate from UCE's Birmingham Institute of Art and Design and a British Airways Travel Award winner, Mr Gibbons's latest venture has received recognition from Channel 4's IDEASFACTORY Creative Class 2005/06, who named him one of the top creative talents in the Midlands.
Mr Gibbons is passionate about promoting new talent, creating a national reputation for their work and fostering a relationship between the artist and the people who invest in their art.
"While studying for my MA Fine Art degree I realised that in the art industry there is no real, defined career path," said Mr Gibbons.
"I wanted to provide a platform for current art students and new graduates, offering them practical advice and real marketing support."
Graduart is currently promoting seven artists in this way, with a further three places hoping to be filled this year.
In choosing his artists, Mr Gibbons said he looks for innovative and challenging work with potential longevity, as well as strong commercial appeal.
The range of artist experience is reflected in the prices, with original pieces selling for anything from £150 to £1,500.
Daniel plans to showcase his artists' work in exhibitions and arts fairs nationwide, particularly in key cities such as Birmingham, Liverpool, Glasgow and London.
His website also offers the opportunity to buy or rent and to commission artists' work directly.
