Staff from LaSer UK have raised more than £31,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care’s new Solihull Hospice in a packed year of fundraising activities.
The credit and loyalty services firm, which is one of the biggest employers in Solihull town centre, smashed its target for 2010, focusing on departmental fundraising initiatives as part of its ‘Make a Difference’ CSR programme.
Staff planned and organised a series of events throughout the year including a charity fashion show, team triathlon and seasonal activities around Halloween and Christmas. Three employees even took part in a gruelling trek to climb North Africa’s highest peak, Mount Toubkal in Morocco.
Chief executive Stephen Hunt said: “2011 will see us develop our activities further creating greater opportunities for employers to engage with the local community. We look forward to another great fundraising year after LaSer UK staff voted to support Cancer Research UK.”
