Businesses across Birmingham are invited to a charity luncheon in the company of Sue Barker and Nick Owen, two of TV’s most respected broadcasters.

The event is being organised by Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice and will take place in the Jaguar Suite at Edgbaston Stadium at 12.30pm on March 16.

After a meal, there will be a question and answer session with Question of Sport host and former tennis star Ms Barker, while renowned presenter Mr Owen will keep the conversation flowing with his own sporting anecdotes.

Kicking off with a champagne reception, the three-course lunch will be served at 1pm, with the event expected to wind up at around 3pm.

Proceeds will go towards the care of local families coping with a life-limiting illness.

Organiser Jayne Bevan-Rabone said: “We’re really pleased to have Sue Barker as a guest speaker knowing that her diary is really full, especially with the 2012 Olympics coming up. Nick, meanwhile, is a stalwart supporter of Birmingham St Mary’s. So it’s very exciting to get them both together and we’re looking forward to hearing their opinions and anecdotes about sport past, present and future.”

To book a ticket at a cost of £50 please contact the hospice’s fundraising department on 0121 472 1191 or email jayne.bevan-rabone@bsmh.org.uk.
