A team of computer software experts have cycled from Birmingham to Brighton to raise money for a children's hospice.

The eight voluteers from WinMan, who are on course to raise £5,000 for city charity Acorn’s, set out from their base at Fort Dunlop on May 13 and reached the south coast three days later, after passing its development offices in Shoreham-by-Sea.

WinMan are a Birmingham based enterprise resource planning software company that supplies small and medium sized manufacturers and distributors. The first leg of the journey took them to Standlake in Oxfordshire and the second day saw the group reach Hambledon in Hampshire.

The last day was a pleasant 40 miles through the South Downs to Brighton Pier.

Steve Whitehouse, head of marketing at Winman, said: “We are hoping to raise plenty of cash for our efforts, so please be generous for this extremely worthwhile cause.”
