The banking and the accountancy profession needs to do more to help SMEs - especially those with turnovers of up to £1 million - according to the industry's trade body.
The Association of Char-tered Certified Accountants said that while most businesses were happy with their bank, those with smaller turnovers were unhappy with the service they had received.
The report, which looked at SMEs in the UK, Spain, Germany, the US and Hong Kong, also revealed that a move towards centralisation was acting against the interests of small firms.
