A mammoth 24-hour, five-aside basketball tournament has raised around £20,000 for The Birmingham & Black Country Foundation charity.
Towergate tlc, part of one of the UK's leading insurance intermediaries brought together 24 teams from across the region for the fund-raiser at Bromsgrove School.
Each team raised a minimum of £300 to take part and the school offered the use of its sports hall and facilities free of charge.
Those taking part include Worcester Rugby Club, Wragge & Co LLP, St Paul Travelers Insurance Company Limited, Primary General Insurance Limited and Royal & Sun Alliance. Tracy Bergin from Towergate, based in Warwick, said: "The Foundation undertakes invaluable work in the community and offers a variety of projects to support. We have pledged some of our funding to the Ladywood Community project in particular which will provide a safe, modern and enjoyable indoor and outdoor play centre for the children of Ladywood.
"The current facilities are run down and we feel we could make a huge difference to the lives of children and parents in this area by renovating the centre. Remaining funds will be allocated to a variety of projects across the region."
