A Midland recruitment professional has helped raise £2,500 for a brain tumour charity with a sky dive in memory of his uncle.
Gareth Downie, aged 33, from Lichfield, who works as a Coachright sports co-ordinator at Birmingham-based Pertemps People Development Group (PPDG) persuaded his wife Louise and brother Carlos to join in on the jump for Brain Tumour UK.
Mr Downie’s uncle Martin, an academic at York University, passed away in his early 50s after being diagnosed with brain tumours.
“He had such a passion for life and his family,” Mr Downie said.
“So before he died I spoke to him about our intentions and his response was so supportive and he was particularly grateful for the idea to help the charity.”
The team raised more than £2,000, which was rounded up to a £2,500 donation by Pertemps.
