A team from the Birmingham office of law firm DLA Piper swept to victory in this year’s Midlands Corporate Ski Challenge held at Tamworth Snowdome.

Nick Jew, Craig Armstrong and Nicky Randle took the plaudits after beating off 50 or so other challengers.

For the last couple of years the event ran very successfully in Villars, Switzerland, but, in a concession to the recession, 2010 saw it came home to the Midlands.

Sponsored by BT Local Business and Snow and Rock, organised by Tim Clay, of Birmingham’s Clay Rogers and Partners, and targeted at the professional community, it added another £2,500 to the previous £8,000 raised for good causes.

Cure Leukaemia was the beneficiary.

And DLA Piper joined Grant Thornton and Deutsche Private Wealth Management who respectively took the honours previously.

Entrants included Aegon Scottish Equitable; Anglo Associates; Arc Benefits; BT Local Business; BTG McInnes Corporate Finance; Clay Rogers and Partners; Clearwater Corporate Finance; Dains; DG Recruitment; Freeth Cartwright; George Green; Grant Thornton; Harvey Ingram; HBJ Gateley Wareing; Jasper Corporate Finance; M3 Corporate Finance; Mills & Reeve; Orbis Partners; Rio Asphalt; Santander; Spencer Gardner Dickins; and West Bromwich Building Society.
