Two workers from a Midland silversmiths will be taking on a mammoth cycle from Land’s End to John O’ Groats this week.
Paul Toland and David Turvey, of LJ Milllington, will set off with six other friends on March 27.
They hope to complete the 1,017-mile ride by April 9. The pair have been training for five months by cycling more than 12 miles a week.
Mr Toland said: “We both see this as a great challenge but also as a great opportunity to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and the Alzheimer’s Society.
“The whole of the challenge is self-funded so every penny plus Gordon’s Gift Aid will go to those neeedy causes.”
Cooksons Trade Counter and The Assay Office have both agreed to hold sponsorship forms in their offices.
