Midlands lingerie firm Sherwood Group has signed up Caprice and announced a name change.

The group, based at Long Eaton, near Nottingham, which describes itself as "a designer and supplier of ladies' intimate apparel", has a portfolio of brands comprising Lepel, Miss Lepel, Ted Baker Intimates, Discover Mademoiselle, Urban Nights and Charnos Lingerie.

It is now changing its name to Intimas Group. The move came as it announced the signing of a deal with celebrity Caprice.

Under the terms of the three-year arrangement, Sherwood has an exclusive supply contract for the "By Caprice Lingerie" range.

She first launched her own lingerie range in the UK in 2001, when she went into partnership with Debenhams. The collection, also modeled by Caprice, was an instant success and she was hailed as the "Queen of the Undieworld".

This year Caprice has expanded her lingerie line globally to South Africa, US and Germany.

Through the new agreement, the "By Caprice" brand will be extended to the creation and launch of new swimwear and nightwear ranges, which will be supplied to a number of major UK and international retailers.

Carol Duncumb, chief executive of Sherwood, added: "As part of our plans to build Intimas into the UK's major supplier of branded ladies' lingerie, I am delighted that we have been able to reach agreement with Caprice to become the exclusive supplier of her glamorous and exciting ranges." ..SUPL:
